Singaporean doctor with zero bed-side manners (Dorcus Ye Qing Ying)

Been away for some time cos had to cope with a medical crisis at home. Throughout the entire ordeal at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), was treated reasonably by all except one staff - an O&G MO called Dorcus Ye Qing Ying. She was arrogant, has zero bed-side manners and do not know how to communicate bad news to patients.

Some info about her...

Qualifications: MB BCh BAO, LRCP & SI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, NUI) 2005
Registered on: 17-March-2008 (Conditional Registration)
Practice Place: O&G, SGH
DOB: 25th Dec 1981 (27 yo)
Height: 1.56m
Weight: low 50's

With a course fee of Euro45,000 per year for a 5/6 year course, am sure she's another rich brat who's in medicine not because she has a love for patients but because her daddy was rich enough to send her overseas!!!

Found her begging for an OBGYN observership/subinternship on the National Council of Chief Clinical Consultants (see below - omg, cant even spell grateful...understand its some times tough to spell something that she rarely experiences)*. Obviously, she doesnt want to return to Singapore after her graduation but was probably unable to land a job overseas so was forced by daddy to return.

"I have completed my medical training in Ireland and have done one year of internship in medicine and surgery.I wish to be in the field of OBGYN,and would very much be greatful if you could allow be to be attached to one of your fellow OBGYNs for an observership or subinternship.
Sincerely, Dorcus Ye"

For the sake of other innocent patients; Dorcus, please, I hope you quit medicine soon.

Anyway, what kind of name is that??? Dorcus??? Found out from Wiki that its the Genus name for 30-odd species of Stag beetles...Stag beetles??? Who the fxxk names their child/themselves after Stag beetles???

Hello, I'm actually a patient at O&G in NUH. I'm sorry for the loss of someone very dear to you. I came across your blog and found your entry on Dr. Ye. I have actually seen Dr Ye as a patient once and she does not seem to be the person you have described. That day when I met her, I was scheduled for an ultrasound and because I could not be given one on that day, she actually made the effort to get my consultation fee waived. I believe that normal doctors would not have gone the extra mile for the patient unlike Dr Ye. So if what you say is true about her being rich and all, I can say that she made an effort to care about the commonfolk. Even though she may have been cold to you or her mannerism may not have been the most ideal in an emotional situation such as this, I don't think it is justifiable to be so critical about her upbringing and how she chooses to further her career/education whatever. Being so young, she will only improve.
